How to play and edit JVC Everio MOD on Mac OSX?

A friend of me newly purchased a JVC Everio camcorder and enjoy the fun form going out for shooting with this digital product. The first day, after he got abundant of footages, he attempted to transfer the JVC videos to his MacBook for playing and editing, but fail to play the.mod files with QuickTime and iMovie, even his VLC Media Play could do nothing about those shootings.

She stated his issue to me for help. Of course she got the right person and finally solve her problems.

A lot of old brad digital camcorders such as JVC (JVC Eerio, JVC G2-MG ZIUS), Cannon (Cannon FS2000), Panasonic (Panaspnic D-Snap SD Card) records their footages as MOD format. Those video files often with a .mod file extension. And often they are incompatible with Mac default video playing and edting software. In order to make them supported by Mac OS X, they have to be changed to Apple-friendly format, say MOV. Speaking of which, Mac limited its accepted format as MOV, MPEG, DV, AVI
Search on Safary, you will find out a batch of multimedia software which can do MOD conversion. Here, I highly recommend Doremisoft MOD Video Converter (Mac Version). You know some software really outputs bad quality videos. However, this software application strikes my fancy.

In the following, I will tell you how to handle it to convert MOD for iMovie on your Mac. Wait a minute, I have bookmarked the tutorial about this . If you are interested, you can visit this site.
